There was huge disappointment in the Borussia Dortmund camp following the 2-0 loss at Union Berlin. "I put my team in an unbelievably bad position," Gregor Kobel said. But his error was "human", according to Edin Terzic. "We still had enough time to score goals," emphasised Emre Can. The match reactions.

Edin Terzic (to DAZN): "We knew what awaited us. And we knew how difficult it is here when you go behind. When you look at how the goals happened: the first goal is super unlucky; we're human, such things happen. The second goal we conceded: where we lost the ball and how we lost the ball – it is exactly those zones where we didn't want it. We gave it another try in the second half, by making changes and substitutions. It was not enough. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We had a lot of possession, but mostly only around the halfway line. We failed to get shots away cleanly and to show determination to score goals. It was too little."

Emre Can (to BVB TV): "We actually wanted to play the way Union did. They were horrible and gave us no time on the ball. When it did get dangerous in behind them, they cleared the ball away. To put it in good English, Greg has saved our a**** on several occasions, so nobody holds this against him. We had enough time to score goals. Union deserved the victory."

Karim Adeyemi (to DAZN): "We very unsatisfied. We made a bad start to the game; we need to learn from it and absolutely do better next week. Union were solid, very compact and were very aggressive too. It was difficult to get opportunities to score."

Niklas Süle (to BVB TV): "We did far too little with our possession. We didn't give all that much away, but we need to do more going forward."

Gregor Kobel (to DAZN): "It was a very, very unlucky game. I put my team in an unbelievably bad position. It is a super difficult place here anyway. We gained more control in the second half and were more dangerous too. We had a few good chances at the end."
