At yesterday's meeting, the supervisory board of Borussia Dortmund GmbH elected Christian Kullmann, who had previously served as deputy chairman, to succeed Gerd Pieper as chairman. Pieper will step down from the supervisory board on 24 September 2021. Ulrich Leitermann will assume the position of deputy chairman.

Christian Kullmann, 52, has been chairman of the board of Evonik Industries AG since May 2017 and a member of the BVB supervisory board since May 2007. In August 2019, he was elected deputy chairman of the supervisory board. The latter position will in future be held by Ulrich Leitermann (born 1959). The chairman of the boards of the SIGNAL IDUNA Group has been a member of Borussia Dortmund's supervisory board since November 2014.

The election of a new supervisory board member is to be held at the annual general meeting scheduled for 2 December.
