Borussia Dortmund's U19s have followed up their 5-3 victory over Real Madrid with a 2-0 win at Apoel Nicosia in the UEFA Youth League, picking up their second victory of the group stages and giving themselves a good chance of reaching the knockout stages.

Despite dominating and creating a spate of good chances, it was not until the 83rd minute that Benjamin Hoffmann's charges made the breakthrough in Cyprus. Jakob Bruun Larsen, on loan from the first-team squad, scored the long overdue opener following build-up play by Gabriel Kyeremateng before Jadon Sancho, who had travelled directly from the U17 World Cup in India to join the squad in Cyprus, doubled the advantage in the 90th minute. Larsen, a key figure throughout, provided the assist.

BVB's next home game in the UEFA Youth League comes on Wednesday 1 November at 18:00 CET, when they host Nicosia. (wiwi)
