Friday marked the start of Borussia Dortmund's preparations for the second half of the Bundesliga season. As is custom on the first day back after the fortnight-long winter break, the Black & Yellows were focusing on performance diagnostics – the usual tests in the fields of coordination, strength and stamina, plus a medical.

The BVB squad will depart for their training camp in Marbella on Saturday afternoon. Their stay in Andalusia will involve friendly fixtures against Standard Liege (7 January at 16:00 CET), Feyenoord (11 January at 12:00 CET) and Mainz 05 (11 January at 17:00 CET). The matches against Liege and Mainz are expected to be streamed live via BVB TV, YouTube (with German commentary) and Facebook (with English commentary).

Upon returning to the Ruhr on 12 January, the Black & Yellows will have six more days to prepare themselves for the second half of their domestic campaign, which resumes away to FC Augsburg on 18 January (15:30 CET).
