The Borussia Dortmund U23s have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new season by signing the speedy and experienced striker Arif Et from FC Brünninghausen.

BVB reached an agreement with the FC Brünninghausen forward several days ago. The 26-year-old then informed his current team-mates of the impending transfer on Wednesday evening. The Bochum native will join the Black & Yellows on a free transfer and has penned a one-year deal until June 2020.

Et began his footballing career late by modern standards, starting at D-Youth level is Iserlohn before moving to Dröschede. In June 2011, the centre-forward was promoted from the Borussia Dröschede U19s to the senior squad, where he spent four years playing in the Landesliga and one year in the Westfalenliga. In the summer of 2016, he signed for FC Brünninghausen, a club based in the suburbs of Dortmund in the Oberliga Westfalen. Since then, the pacey forward has been hitting the net with impressive frequency, scoring 53 goals and claiming another 20 assists in 97 matches for FC Brünninghausen in the fifth tier. He currently has 22 goals and five assists to his name from 31 games in the current campaign, making him the second-highest scorer in the division – even though his team is currently battling relegation. Once the summer comes around, he will be a BVB player.

Arit Et is the fourth new arrival ahead of the upcoming Regionalliga season, following the signings of Steffen Tigges, Maximilian Hippe and Lars Bünning.
