Borussia Dortmund is breaking new ground with its international online shop and is taking this matter – something that is really important for many fans around the world – into its own hands, without an intermediate solution for the first time. As of this Monday, BVB fans will be able to order in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese) and pay in five currencies – euro (€), US dollars (USD), the British pound (GBP), the Japanese yen (YEN) and Chinese yuan (RMB) – by credit card and or PayPal.

"We made the decision in favour of our own international online shop to keep full control over the external representation of Borussia Dortmund, including as regards uniform communication with fans on the international market," said Matthias Zerber, managing director of BVB Merchandising GmbH. He continued: "What's more, it gives us the opportunity to also offer our broad and deep product range almost in its entirety internationally and to bring the Black and Yellow to the big wide world."

While there will be around 460 products offered in the new shop this week, that figure is expected to rise to 1,000 by the end of 2020. Similarly, BVB currently ships to around 40 countries, and almost worldwide shipping is expected by late 2020. There are also plans to add WeChatPay and Alipay as further payment options this year. And if that wasn't enough, BVB is promising free worldwide shipping to all customers making an order of €100 or more, and customers will receive their goods within 5-10 working days.
