Defender Julian Ryerson suffered an inner ligament injury in the away match in Stuttgart on Wednesday and will not be available for Borussia Dortmund in the coming weeks. Striker Youssoufa Moukoko will also miss the remaining matches of the year due to a torn muscle fibre. Paris Brunner will be part of the Bundesliga squad for the first time on Saturday against Leipzig.

Ryerson injured his knee in stoppage time and had to leave the pitch with support. He will not play again this year due to an inner ligament injury. "We'll have to wait for the next few days to make a final diagnosis and define an exact period of absence," said BVB coach Edin Terzic.

Youssoufa Moukoko was substituted in the first half after suffering a stitch in his hamstring. He will miss the remaining games of the year due to a torn muscle fibre.

Marius Wolf twisted his ankle in the first half and was substituted at the break. "It's going to be a close call for Saturday," said Terzic, who is still hopeful Wolf can feature in Wednesday's home game against Paris Saint-Germain.

Marcel Sabitzer was unable to continue after suffering a knock to his calf in Stuttgart. A question mark hangs over his involvement against Leipzig. "We have high hopes," explained Terzic.

Sebastien Haller had already suffered a slight knee injury in training before the cup match. With another striker out in Moukoko, U17 World Cup winner Paris Brunner will make his first appearance in a senior matchday squad against Leipzig. The U19 forward has been training with the first team since Thursday.

Niklas Süle and Gio Reyna, who have been absent recently due to colds, have also returned to the training pitch. "We assume that both will be available", said Terzic.(cr)
