In the end, Borussia Dortmund ran out deserved winners thanks to a significantly improved second-half performance. While Cologne had more of the shots before the break (5-9), Dortmund did in the second half (9-3). As in Augsburg on Matchday 1, BVB once again came from behind to win 3-1 in Cologne.

Sancho on a run: The young Englishman received the ball from a short corner before firing a left-footed effort into the bottom corner. It was his sixth goal in his last eight appearances in the Bundesliga. Three of his last four goals in the German top flight have come away from home.

...as is Paco: Alcácer nicely rounded off a counter-attack deep into stoppage time, taking his tally to five goals from the first four competitive matches of the season!

Headed goal: Achraf Hakimi met a dream cross from Lukasz Piszczek to score Dortmund's first headed goal of the 2019/20 season.

Top team spirit: As in Augsburg on Matchday 1, BVB once again came from behind to win. The Black & Yellows did so five times last season – more than any other club in the division.

Subs continue to make a mark: Julian Brandt scored after coming off the bench in Augsburg, while Achraf Hakimi did so in Cologne. The 18 goals scored by BVB subs last term set an all-time league record.

Another solid start: BVB have started a Bundesliga campaign with two successive wins for the fourth time in the last seven seasons.

Cologne a favourite foe: Borussia Dortmund have not lost any of their last six Bundesliga meetings with Cologne. Each of the last three matches have ended in victory.

Late goals: Paco Alcácer scored more goals than anyone else in the final 15 minutes of games in 2018/19 (12). Today he scored his first late goal of the current campaign.

First scorer point: The assist for Sancho's goal was the first time Thorgan Hazard has had a hand in a BVB Bundesliga goal. (br)
