Starting XI: Dahoud begins

A combination of injuries and illnesses plus the suspension of Emre Can have forced coach Edin Terzic into making several personnel changes. The following XI will take to the field at a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK at 18:27 CET: Meyer – Wolf, Süle, Schlotterbeck, Ryerson – Dahoud – Malen, Bellingham, Guerreiro, Reus – Haller

Referee: Siebert to officiate

Daniel Siebert, a 38-year-old teacher from Berlin, will oversee the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Cologne. Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn will be the linesmen, with Florian Badstübner the fourth official. Pascal Müller has been appointed as the "VAR". Siebert made his Bundesliga debut when he took charge of a game between Schalke 04 and FC Augsburg on 1 September 2012. The 1.91m-tall Berlin native has been a FIFA referee since 2014 and lists sport and travel among his key interests. He is regarded as a very level-headed referee. He first oversaw a game involving BVB on 12 September 2015, when Borussia won 4-2 in Hanover. In total, he has refereed BVB 24 times (17 wins, three draws and four defeats). The last of those was BVB's home game against Hoffenheim on 2 September 2022 (1-0).
