At the press conference, Edin Terzic spoke not only about the 90 minutes at the Alte Försterei but also about Karim Adeyemi and the central defensive duo of Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle.

Edin Terzic on the balance of play:
"In the first 30 minutes, we lost too many balls and made it too easy for Union. But then Rönnow deserves a big compliment up until we were able to score the first goal. It was nicely created and exactly what we wanted to have against a 5-3-2. We wanted to play from full-back to full-back in order to open up the centre in the process. We didn't do that well in the first 30 minutes. The second goal was the result of a good pressing moment and a good combative performance. We're satisfied but know that we still have a long way to go."

…on Karim Adeyemi's performance:
"Karim was the mirror image of the first half. He had difficulties settling into the match. The goal shows his talent. But it's extremely important to me that we opened up the space in front of goal as a team so that Karim could showcase his capabilities. He did that really well. It was his first start for a very long time. It's difficult to imagine that it was only his first Bundesliga goal of the season when you know his qualities. He should use it as a kick-start."

…on the initial difficulties:
"The goal was to shake off last Sunday's game as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to do that. You could tell from the warm-up on the pitch that it was going to be tough today. That's why we had to be absolutely focused and support each other. When we opened up the space through good positional play, it was considerably better."

…on the central defence of Schlotterbeck/Süle:
"Today we opted for Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle in central defence. Both did very well and gave away very little. That worked really well. Not only Mats (Hummels), but also many other players, were not used today. But they are very important to us achieving our objectives."
