At the press conference, Edin Terzic praised the performance from his team and indirectly singled out one player: Mo Dahoud.

Edin Terzic on the balance of play:
We saw a really good performance from us. We immediately took control. In terms of efficiency, we took a really good step in the right direction compared to the derby last week. What is particularly nice is that nobody dropped off; rather, everyone produced a really good performance. There was a short spell in the first half in which they didn't have so much desire to push and Cologne had more of the ball. We adjusted that at the break and deservedly won. We're satisfied to go into the international break like this.

…on the supposedly late substitutions given the clear lead:
We were well in the game and didn't want to disrupt the rhythm. The lads worked well, did not let up, and had fun and enjoyed themselves. Afterwards, we made substitutions. We had lads with four yellow cards on the pitch. In view of that fact, we then took a more cautious approach.

…on the personnel situation:
We spoke about a lot of absences before the match. If you rewind three weeks, there were some lads missing who were totally in form. We're dependent on every single player. When you see the intensity in training, when you see how we're there for one another, even though it is difficult for one or two of the players from time to time, that makes us positive. Today, for example, Mo Dahoud took his opportunity; he hasn't had an easy time and was back in the starting line-up for the first time in seven months after his injury. He played a really great game.
