Thomas Delaney: "It was a lot of work today. We went 1-0 ahead early on, but then we started to lose the ball often. Something changed in the second period, our pressing was a lot better. The result was beyond doubt in the end, the clear scoreline gives us a good feeling: the strikers because of the goals and the defenders because of the clean sheet. I'm really looking forward to the derby. Now we have a few days off and then we'll start our analysis and training."

Marius Wolf: "I slipped over and rolled my ankle. It didn't feel good in the direct aftermath but I hope it's nothing serious. I wanted to continue playing but it was better to come off to ensure it didn't get any worse. And if you continue in that situation, it doesn't help the team either."

Marco Reus: "It was slightly more difficult than it looked. Freiburg have performed well at home against the big teams and are tactically at a good level. We knew that. But we produced another good performance today. We were very compact and very dynamic, we got stuck into the challenges well and we played some good football too, especially in the second period. We're delighted that we managed to win by this margin too. Paco has had a difficult time of late. I've always said that it doesn't depend on any one individual, but that we must work together as a team. Since breaking his arm, Paco hasn't been satisfied that he's mostly been making substitute appearances. It's important to reward every player, even in difficult times. Personally, I didn't think twice about giving him the penalty."
