Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre did not hold back on Tuesday, putting his players through two intensive training sessions in sweltering temperatures.

The morning began with the players completing sprints and passing exercises in pairs. Most of the players then took part in an 11v11 match, while Otto Addo worked with the youngsters on an adjacent pitch. Mahmoud Dahoud only completed the first part of the team training session, while Mats Hummels was again put through his paces individually.

The second session of the day, held in the afternoon, saw the players start with a drill in a circle. They then practised attacking moves in the final third, with six players linking up to try and circumvent a back four and get in on goal. That was followed by a match on a half-pitch. The session concluded with Erling Haaland, Giovanni Reyna, Youssoufa Moukoko and Jadon Sancho attempting to convert crosses played in from the right flank.

Lucien Favre's charges will be back on the training pitch on Wednesday morning and will then face SCR Altach in a friendly in the afternoon. The match will kick off at 17:00 CET and will be broadcast live on BVB TV by 1&1. (cr)
