The Borussia Dortmund U19 side surrendered their strong position in the fight to finish in one of the top two places in the Bundesliga West with a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

BVB coach Benjamin Hoffmann's young side moved down into third place behind 1. FC Köln and Schalke 04, meaning they are now dependent on other results going their way in order to qualify for the final round of the German championship. Ryan Adigo got the only goal of the game in the 25th minute as he provided the finishing touch to Mönchengladbach's first attack of the match. ''That was pretty disappointing,'' said academy coordinator Lars Ricken with regards to the performance of his young players.
