Despite drawing their final match of the Bundesliga season 2-2 against MSV Duisburg, the Borussia Dortmund U19s qualified for the Final Round of the German Championship for the fourth season in succession. There they will face FC Schalke 04, who won the western title after beating VfL Bochum 4-1. BVB benefited from a slip-up by 1 FC Cologne, who lost 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen, to finish the campaign in second spot.

Paul Besong and Yassin Ibrahim had fired the Black & Yellows into a two-goal lead, but a tough-tackling Duisburg side halved the deficit on the stroke of half-time and equalised soon after the restart.

BVB will play the first leg of their semi-final on Wednesday (18:15 CET) in Oberhausen, with the return leg to take place on Monday 20 May. (wiwi)
