The second warm-up match of preseason proved a resounding success for the Borussia Dortmund U19s. Coach Mike Tullberg's side ran out 3-1 and 2-0 winners in their two 45-minute long friendlies in Recklinghausen against Westphalian league outfit Hombrucher SV. The leading goal scorer for the Black & Yellows was Bradley Fink, who grabbed all three of his side's goals in the first game, while Tekin Gencoglu and Samuel Bamba were on target in the second.

''We should have won by a far greater margin, but the lads were tired after five weeks of hard training,'' said coach Mike Tullberg. Now the squad have a well-earned week off to look forward to before preparations resume for the start of the season on 20 September. The Black & Yellows will get their Bundesliga campaign underway with an away game at Preußen Münster.

Meanwhile in Medebach, the entirely new U17 side lost their first warm-up match 3-1 against FSV Mainz 05. ''Overall it was a fair result. We were able to get a clear idea of what it is we need to work on over the next few weeks,'' said coach Sebastian Geppert, whose team start the season on 20 September with a road trip to face Borussia Mönchengladbach. wiwi
