While a vast majority of professional leagues are currently on an international break, the 3. Liga is set to continue this weekend. Borussia Dortmund's U23s will round off the English week at home to table neighbours VfL Osnabrück on Saturday. Kick-off at Stadion Rote Erde will be at 14:00 CET.

The Lily Whites have kicked off 2022 with two victories and a draw. Coach Daniel Scherning's charges were last in action against Würzburger Kickers, whom they beat on Tuesday. The Osnabrück outfit have taken 36 points from 22 matches and currently sit seventh in the table, one place above BVB. Their top scorer is striker Marc Heider, who scored last Tuesday and in the reverse fixture in Osnabrück, which the home side won by a 2-1 scoreline. Heider has notched seven goals and five assists in 20 appearances this term.

Winger Marco Pasalic made his comeback for the Black & Yellow U23s in their 2-0 away defeat in Saarbrücken on Wednesday evening. The Croatia U21 international made a brief cameo appearance on his return from an injury lay-off lasting more than 140 days. But the 21-year-old is not ready for a place in the starting XI on Saturday. The suspended Lennard Maloney and the injured Kolbeinn Finnsson will not be available to face Osnabrück.
