The Borussia Dortmund U19s will play their game in hand against SC Verl at 19:00 CET on Friday evening. That means the reserves will be up against one of the best teams in the Regionalliga West at the same time the first team are in action.

The league clash against SC Verl could not take place as scheduled earlier in the season. The game had to be called off as the pitch was unplayable, the surface having been damaged by the DFB Cup clash against Holstein Kiel (Verl won 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw). The East Westphalians are currently riding on a wave of success. Nobody expected them to reach the third round of the cup, and there have been a series of outstanding performances in the league too. Verl are currently third in the table, though they have played a game fewer than leaders Rödinghausen. Guerino Capretti's charges are good at both ends of the pitch, having scored an impressive 39 goals and only conceded 13. The Black & Whites won 2-1 away to a strong 1. FC Cologne reserve side last time out.

BVB will go to Verl in buoyant mood having restored their self-belief with a 2-0 away victory over Fortuna Cologne last time out, their focused defensive display and clinical attacking play enough to see them comfortably past a team relegated from the third tier last term. The Black & Yellows will be hoping to take the next step against SC Verl and prevail against one of the better sides in the league. The omens ahead of the game are relatively good: BVB came away with all three points last time they were away in Verl, with Herbert Bockhorn and Luca Kilian scoring the goals in a 2-0 triumph back in April.
