Having had their midweek match abandoned due to a storm, the Borussia Dortmund U23s will be hoping for fairer weather this weekend. The Black & Yellow reserves face a trip to SC Verl, whom they will face at 18:00 CET on Saturday.

In SC Verl, BVB are up against an experienced team who have shown great resilience since the winter break. The East Westphalians play with great dynamism and creativity going forward, while they are a solid unit defensively too. No wonder, then, that coach Guerino Capretti's team are only one position behind seventh-placed BVB in the table. "It'll be a big challenge," said BVB coach Alen Terzic, who would have liked to see the Wuppertal match through. His charges created a number of good goalscoring opportunities in the opening 12 minutes and were very much in the game, but the lasting storms made it impossible to continue.

Their last two meetings in Verl have ended in stalemate, but it was Sportclub who won the reverse fixture (2-1) thanks to a Matthias Haeder brace. BVB last won in Verl in 2016, when they were still under the tutelage of Daniel Farke.
