"We weren't resolute enough in one situation or another," complained Mario Götze after the 0-3 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. "We lost our focus in the second half," analysed Jadon Sancho. Despite the loss, the game was a special one for the London-born winger. Here's the match reaction.

Roman Bürki: "We had only one chance in the first and hardly any in the second half. Whenever we play against robust teams, we encounter problems because we cannot counteract this. We have conceded goals from set-pieces and crosses over several weeks now. We are not defending well. We aren't winning our challenges and aren't switched on. We have to defend more ruthlessly. We definitely have to improve. That starts in training."

Mario Götze: "We conceded very early in the second half and that unsettled us. Of course, to let in two goals shortly before the final whistle leaves a really bitter taste. Also, the fact we could not score an away goal isn't that special either, especially when you consider the first half. We were well in the game and had our chances up front. The game was even, we were playing well and our shape was good. They are fine margins that decide. We weren't resolute enough in one situation or another. We had such high hopes for the game but it didn't work out. We have to get back on track again in our next game on Monday."

Jadon Sancho: "We played very well in the first half and Tottenham couldn't get past us. But in the second half we lost our focus a little and then you concede goals like these. I am happy to have played in front of my friends and family. They aren't able to watch me play so often in Germany. We will continue to work hard in training and hopefully we can score several goals in the return leg."

Heung-Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur): "Dortmund were the better side in the first half but dropped off in the second half. We took advantage of that."
