Speaking at the post-match press conference, Lucien Favre said it was the "difficult game we'd expected" and that the increased tempo and the introductions of Brandt and Hakimi had been decisive in the victory.

Lucien Favre: "We're very satisfied with this victory. It was the difficult game we'd expected. Cologne were very strong in the first half, especially when it came to pressing and winning the ball back; they had some chances too. We couldn't play because everything was too slow. The movement wasn't so good. We played with more tempo in the second half and generally did things better in the second period. The introductions of Julian Brandt and Achraf Hakimi made a big contribution. We remained patient until we finally scored a goal." (br)
