For the time being, the Borussia Dortmund women's handball team have been spared a trip to a crisis and risk area: their Champions League away match against SCM Ramnicu Valcea in Romania was postponed by the European Handball Federation on Friday evening. The match had been scheduled to start at 16:00 CET today.

However, the EHF did not comply with Borussia Dortmund's request to postpone the game due to the acute risk of infection – a state of alarm has been declared throughout the country until 14 November – but instead reacted to six players in the SCM Ramnicu Valcea team testing positive for corona on Friday. In addition to this game, two more of the four matches scheduled for today in Group B of the EHF Champions League have been cancelled. Whether and when the BVB game in Romania will be played is not yet certain. (br)
