The last two matches of the Borussia Dortmund women's handball team scheduled for before the upcoming European Championship have been cancelled. The Dortmund health authority has ruled that the BVB players must remain in household quarantine until 21 November.

Neither the Bundesliga game against HSG Blomberg-Lippe (18 November) nor the Champions League match against Romanian club SCM Ramnicu Valcea will now take place. This follows the cancellation of the league match against FSV Mainz 05, originally scheduled for 11 November.

The women's handball team had to go into quarantine after their two Champions League games away to Hungarian club Györi Audi ETO KC. This was because three players and a physiotherapist from the opposition tested positive for the Coronavirus. Two separate sets of negative test results on the Monday and Friday following the Champions League matches have not altered the decision of the health authorities.

The women's handball team's next game will now take place after the European Championship being held in Denmark (3 to 20 December). The Black & Yellows will travel to Thüringer HC in the Bundesliga on 27 December.
