To mark the start of the cooperation between Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and social business fairafric, the first European company to produce chocolate in Ghana, BVB representatives Ibrahim Tanko and Marvin Mainoo-Boakye visited fairafric in Amanase, Ghana. The football club and fairafric are together launching BVB Fan Chocolate, with 10% of the purchase price to go towards the restoration of a football pitch in Amanase.

The pitch in Amanase, a small town in Ghana's Eastern Region, is located 3 km from the fairafric factory. More than 500 students from nine schools play there. Ten percent of each chocolate bar's purchase price will go towards the renovation of the football pitch. BVB partner PUMA is also supporting the cooperation in the form of jerseys, nets and balls.

As part of the legends' trip to Ghana which took place at the start of June, former BVB player and now coach Ibrahim Tanko visited the fairafric chocolate factory in Amanase, where approximately 80 staff are already employed.

By producing locally, fairafric wants to kick-start a sustainable and holistic transformation that strengthens the local economy, secures regular incomes for families and drives the development of regional infrastructure.

From 1 August, the limited-edition BVB Fan Chocolate will be available in all BVB fan stores, on fairafric.com and in selected supermarkets.
