At the start of the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, Borussia Dortmund are proud to announce comdirect bank AG as their new banking partner. The long-term cooperation between the two organisations will focus on bringing mobile payment to Signal Iduna Park, adding exclusive value to the BVB fan account as well as order-free trading of BVB shares.

"With comdirect bank AG, we are pleased to have a strong partner on board, a partner that has repeatedly demonstrated its digital expertise and innovative strength in both banking-specific topics as well as the sports sector," says BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer. "For us, this cooperation and the new offers being developed represent an important step in strengthening the bond between the club and its fans.''

Matthias Hach, Marketing and Sales Director of comdirect, was keen to emphasise that: "We feel a huge sense of enthusiasm and identification here at BVB. We want to make the most of this passion by providing fans with added banking value through their favourite club. Through these offers, we want to show that banking and brokerage can be fun, because, as a smart financial company, we like to make our customers' lives easier."

In its capacity as a leading commercial partner of BVB, comdirect will use its expertise as one of the leading direct banks to make payment transactions at Signal Iduna Park more convenient than ever before. Visitors to Germany's largest stadium will in future be able to conveniently use Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as debit and credit cards, for all transactions at the 170 indoor and outdoor retail outlets found throughout the stadium grounds.

The new partnership between the two organisations will bear its first fruits this Saturday at the season opener against FC Augsburg. The stationary stadium retail outlets have been equipped with terminals which enable mobile and contactless payment. Holders of the BVB fan account will be able to use their BVB payment wristband or BVB Visa card to buy a cold drink or indeed kit themselves out in the club's fan shop. The previous means of payment in the stadium - the rechargeable electronic payment card - can still be used.

The BVB fan account will offer fans of the eight-time German champions additional exclusive benefits. The free checking account includes a BVB banking app, a BVB payment bracelet and a Visa card with contactless payment function - all in a special Black & Yellow design. With the BVB Fan Depot, fans can now trade BVB shares on the German stock exchange without paying an order fee. This also applies to securities savings plans. For young BVB supporters, there is the BVB Junior Fan Depot for long-term asset accumulation as well as the BVB Junior Fan Account.

Interested parties can open the BVB Fan Account, the BVB Junior Fan Account, the BVB Fan Deposit Account and the BVB Junior Fan Deposit Account with immediate effect at www.bvb.de/comdirect .
