With the second international break of the season now over, Bundesliga action is set to resume this weekend. One of the highlights of Matchday 8 will be leaders Borussia Dortmund playing host to fourth-placed Leipzig on Saturday (18:30 CET). Here we bring you the match facts.

The scenario: The Black & Yellows have won their last four on the bounce, are on a 13-game unbeaten run stretching back into last season and have their best-ever record from the opening seven games of a campaign. Leipzig have lost only one of their last six matches – a 1-0 defeat in Augsburg on 19 September. The two teams faced each other for the first time last season, with each winning their respective home game by a 1-0 scoreline.

Home/away: Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten at Signal Iduna Park in two and a half years (41 matches). The last home defeat was a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich on 4 April 2015. Only BVB have more away wins this season than Leipzig (two), though the men from Saxony have lost their other two away games.

Personnel matters: Peter Bosz will provide an update on Friday.

Head-to-head record: BVB have beaten each of the 52 sides they have ever faced in the top flight at least once – and they upheld that record last season by beating Leipzig 1-0 in early February.

Statistics: Borussia Dortmund have scored the most goals (21) and conceded the fewest (2). They have more clean sheets than any other side (5), which is over half as many as they kept in the entirety of last season (9). Rasenballsport Leipzig have only kept one clean sheet in their last ten, when they beat Hamburg 2-0 on Matchday 3.

Referee: The DFB usually announces refereeing appointments on Thursdays at 16:00.
