Having previously gone eight Bundesliga games without a win, BVB beat TSG Hoffenheim 2-1 (0-1) to record their second successive victory. The result, which lifted them above their opponents in the table, will serve as a confidence-booster ahead of Wednesday's Cup clash in Munich.

Excellent record: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in his 15 Bundesliga appearances this season, meaning he now has more scorer points than any other player in the division (17). Eleven of his 13 goals have come at home.

Cool and composed: Aubameyang missed a penalty the last time BVB hosted Hoffenheim (on Matchday 32 last season), but this time he held his nerve and fired home to level the scores.

Favourite foes: BVB are now unbeaten in their last nine meetings with TSG, having won five and drawn four.

Last-ditch: Having failed to find the net in his last ten games, newly-crowned US Footballer of the Year Christian Pulisic scored his third goal of the season and his first on home soil.

Come-from-behind: For the first time this term, Borussia Dortmund came from behind to win a game. A fortnight ago, in the 1-1 draw with Leverkusen, they took their first point of the season from a losing position.

Fair play: The tackles flew in, but they were fair – and there were no bookings. Stöger's debut in Mainz was equally clean, with no yellow cards being shown.

Following his predecessors' footsteps: Peter Stöger has followed in the footsteps of predecessors Thomas Tuchel and Peter Bosz by winning his first two games as BVB boss.

Unchanged XI: Stöger fielded the same XI that started his debut in the Dortmund dugout at Mainz. The only previous time this season the Black & Yellows have fielded the same XI in two consecutive games was on Matchdays 1 and 2. (br)
