The two goalscorers Michy Batshuayi and André Schürrle joined head coach Peter Stöger in giving a short interview to Eurosport directly after the match. Peter Stöger: "That was an incredibly important win. We didn't start the second half of the season optimally, either in terms of points or football, so a negative outcome tonight would have definitely set tongues wagging. Fortunately that wasn't the case and now we're in the hunt for the European places. We held firm, it wasn't a game for the faint of heart. The victory is good for us and obviously it's a dream debut for Michy, especially after the weeks of discussions."

Michy Batshuayi: "I am very happy about my two goals but the most important thing today is obviously to get the win. It was the first match, it wasn't easy. I'm just delighted with the three points. We want to climb as high as possible in the table and to try to win every game."

"On a good run of form since the winter break"

Andre Schürrle: "I still had a lot to do, so whether it was deserved or undeserved doesn't matter, but such things help you on your way. I'm on a very good run of form since the winter break and am now able to show that more and more. The most important thing is that I'm now getting minutes under my belt. This victory is extremely important for us. All in all, this week it has been much calmer within the team, we've talked a lot. Victories like this are exactly what we need now, now we've got to carry that forward." (djg)
