Borussia Dortmund had 27 shots on goal, equalling their own season record for attempts on goal. Their very strong first-half performance – in which they had 16 shots – and their numerous chances made them deserved winners over Hannover 96.

Unbeaten run: Borussia Dortmund extended their unbeaten run under Peter Stöger to 12 Bundesliga games (seven wins, five draws). The Austrian made a similarly solid start at 1. FC Köln in 2013, avoiding defeat in each of his first 13 second-tier matches in charge!

Favourite foe: BVB have won seven of their past eight home games against Hannover. However, there has only been a single goal in the last four meetings between the sides at the Strobelallee (1-0, 1-0, 0-1, 1-0).

Home win: For the first time in six months – and therefore the first time under Peter Stöger too – Borussia have won two successive Bundesliga home games.

Important goals: All six of Michy Batshuayi's Bundesliga goals have put the Black & Yellows in front.

Clinical corner: For the first time in his Bundesliga career, Andre Schürrle set up a goal with a corner kick. "Schüüü" was involved in 13 shots on goal in total (having five himself and setting up eight), which was more than any other player on the pitch. For BVB, it was the fifth goal of the season from a corner-kick.

Clean sheet: Roman Bürki kept a clean sheet for the tenth time this term.

Chapuisat surpassed: Pirmin Schwegler made his 229th Bundesliga appearance, surpassing the 228 appearances made by BVB legend Stéphane Chapuisat. Schwegler is now in fourth place on the list of all-time Swiss appearance makers, behind Sforza, Barnetta and Benaglio. (br)
