Marco Reus: Five goals in eight games

Home fortress: BVB have won four consecutive home games in the Bundesliga for the first time this season and remain on course for a Champions League berth.

Enforcer: Manuel Akanji made his first appearance for BVB in the left-back slot, winning 57 percent of his challenges. He didn't give an inch at the back (he didn't lose a single battle against Bailey) and consistently made an impact going forward too, including an excellent pass in the build-up to the third goal.

Whirlwind: Jadon Sancho scored his first Bundesliga goal on his ninth appearance and caused real chaos on the left flank. He created seven shooting opportunities (more than any other player), including the third and fourth goals. At 18 years and 27 days, he is the youngest English goalscorer in the history of the Bundesliga and the first English player to score for BVB.

Brace: Marco Reus had more shots than any other player (six) and claimed his first brace of the campaign. All in all, he now has a goal tally of five in the current Bundesliga season, and has reached that mark in only eight appearances. His 97th Bundesliga goal was only his third header (the first since November 2014).

Back in action: Despite a lengthy spell out with injury, Maximilian Philipp has now scored almost as many Bundesliga goals for BVB this season (eight) as he did for SC Freiburg last term (nine).

Penalty failure: Marco Reus missed a penalty for only the second time in 11 attempts in the Bundesliga (the first was saved by Mainz's Loris Karius in October 2015).

Provider: Christian Pulisic has 11 scorer points this season (four goals, seven assists) and has now equalled his record from last season, when he scored three and set up eight.

Young starting XI: BVB lined up with their youngest starting XI in six months, making it the youngest line-up under Peter Stöger. The average age was 25.5 years.
