The first league goal following the lengthy corona break was scored by the player top of the 2020 Bundesliga goalscoring charts: Erling Haaland. The Norwegian scored his 10th goal in 09 Bundesliga matches. Borussia Dortmund were ruthless in the derby, claiming a comfortable 4-0 win despite only edging the chances 11-9. Here are the match facts.

Historic: Borussia Dortmund recorded their biggest derby victory since 26 November 1966, when Schalke 04 were beaten by a 6-2 scoreline. The only win by a higher margin also came in 1966 (26 February), with BVB winning 7-0.

Strong form since winter break: The Black & Yellows have won eight of their nine Bundesliga games since the winter break, meaning they have as many victories in 2020 as they racked up in their 17 matches before Christmas.

Landmark win: Borussia Dortmund recorded their 800th Bundesliga win; the only club to have previously reached that landmark is Bayern Munich.

Fortress Signal Iduna Park: BVB remain the only club in the Bundesliga yet to lose a home game this term. They have taken 33 out of a possible 39 points on home turf (W10 D3).

Consecutive clean sheets: Dortmund have kept clean sheets in four consecutive Bundesliga home games for the first time in more than 10 years.

Creativity in abundance: All four of BVB's goals today – and 66 of their 72 goals this season – came from open play.

Goal record: The Black & Yellows have never scored 72 goals in their first 26 matches before.

Threat on the counter: The third goal was the 16th goal on the counter this season – a Bundesliga high.

Home run: BVB have extended their scoring run to a club-record 38 consecutive Bundesliga home games.

Debut double: Raphael Guerreiro scored his first Bundesliga brace in his 77th appearance in the competition. It is a feat he has already managed twice in the UEFA Champions League – against Atlético Madrid and AS Monaco. The Portugal international had the most shots (four), had an impressive 86 touches of the ball and won 59 percent of his challenges. Guerreiro has now scored seven Bundesliga goals this season – a personal best.

Outstanding: Julian Brandt was involved in all four goals, notched two direct assists, set up the most shots on goal (five) and was involved in the most challenges of all 31 players that featured (31).

Shared responsibility: Borussia Dortmund are the only Bundesliga club with three scorers to reach double figures: Sancho, Reus and Haaland (14, 11 and 10 goals respectively).

Second-fastest to reach double digits: Erling Haaland needed only 541 minutes on the pitch to score his first 10 Bundesliga goals. Only one player in history has reached double figures more quickly: Paco Alcácer (281 minutes).

Back in action: Thomas Delaney featured for the first time since playing in the goalless derby draw on 26 October. Delaney and Dahoud started a match together for the first time in over a year. (br)
