By scoring 23 goals in 22 Bundesliga games, Erling Haaland has set a new Bundesliga record. Never before has a player netted as many goals in their first 22 Bundesliga games as the Norwegian, who has beaten Uwe Seeler's record of 20 goals.

  • At the age of 20 years and four months, Erling Haaland is the youngest player to score four goals in a game in Bundesliga history.
  • The last Dortmund player to score four times in a Bundesliga match was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who did so in a 5-2 away win over HSV in November 2016.
  • Erling Haaland has eight goals after 10 rounds of matches, equalling the BVB record set by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in both 2015/16 and 2017/18.
  • Haaland only had the ball 25 times in 85 minutes but had six shots at goal and scored four goals – all in one half. He has scored 18 of his 23 Bundesliga goals in the second half of matches.
  • It was the first "flawless hat-trick" – when a player scores three uninterrupted goals in one half – in the Bundesliga since Ishak Belfodil of Hoffenheim in Augsburg in April 2019. The last BVB player to do so was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang away to HSV in November 2016.
  • It was the first time Haaland has scored on the road this season.
