BVB coach Edin Terzic will be without five players who are injured or suspended when Borussia Dortmund travel to Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday evening (kick-off at 20:30 CET). Meanwhile, Giovanni Reyna is still doubtful.

Dan-Axel Zagadou sustained torn muscle fibres in the game against Mainz on Saturday and was substituted off before half-time. The central defender is expected to be unavailable for between two and three weeks.

In other news, Emre Can picked up his fifth booking of the campaign against Mainz and will miss the meeting with his former employers through suspension. "We've often mentioned before how important he is for us. But somebody else will have to step into his shoes tomorrow, perhaps even in a different role," explained BVB boss Edin Terzic, who added: "We have enough quality in the squad to make up for his absence."

Giovanni Reyna was ruled out of Saturday's game with a throat infection, but the midfielder could return to the squad for the match against Leverkusen. "He returned to the training pitch for an individual session this afternoon. We hope he'll be back with the team for the final training session tomorrow and then we'll see whether we can factor him into our plans for the match," said Terzic.

Thorgan Hazard (torn muscle fibres), Axel Witsel (torn Achilles tendon) and Marcel Schmelzer (rehab after knee operation) remain unavailable. (cr)
