Four days after reaching the semi-finals of the DFB Cup, Borussia Dortmund will be back in Bundesliga action: the Black & Yellows will be away to FC Bayern Munich in the match of the round on Saturday evening (kick-off 18:30 CET).

BVB are now on a four-match winning streak – two in the Bundesliga (Schalke, Bielefeld), one in the UEFA Champions League (Sevilla) and one in the DFB Cup (Mönchengladbach). "It took a little while to implement our style of play consistently. It is clear that it's a process until things become automatic. It's worked better in the latest games, and we want to improve even more," explained head coach Edin Terzic.

Up next for the Black & Yellows is a trip to league leaders Bayern Munich on Saturday. The coach has taken a look back at the past two meetings between the two clubs – the final of the Super Cup and the reverse fixture in the Bundesliga earlier this term. BVB lost both games 3-2. "You could see that small details decided the games. We had the opportunity in both matches to take the lead or score the winning goal. We didn't manage that," said Terzic, who outlined what he wanted to see from his players in the latest showdown: "We'll need to be alert. If we lose possession in the centre, things can happen immediately. They posed us a threat from set-pieces too; we'll need to be aware. There'll be things that we're unable to prevent. We'll need to show a good reaction nonetheless. But the most important thing is that we do things that they cannot prevent." The clear objective will be to "show our courage and our team spirit once again in Munich".

Even though BVB will be travelling to the Bavarian capital in fifth place, "it's still a special occasion when Bayern play against Dortmund," explained sporting director Michael Zorc, adding: "In the last two years, the matches between the two clubs have determined the outcome of the title race. That's not the case this year, but both teams now need every available point to achieve their respective objectives. So there'll be enough tension surrounding the game."

It remains unclear whether Jadon Sancho and Raphael Guerreiro will be able to make the trip to Munich. Both players were substituted off with an injury against Mönchengladbach. "We still need to wait and see. It could be a close call for them both, but we aren't giving up hope," said Terzic. Meanwhile, Manuel Akanji has resumed running training: "He's making great progress, but he probably won't be ready in time for Saturday."
