They may have won the DFB-Pokal and qualified for the UEFA Champions League, but coach Edin Terzic and his team have set themselves some additional objectives for their last game of the season against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (kick-off 15:30 CET).

On Thursday, a week after lifting the DFB-Pokal and four days after securing a Champions League place, Borussia Dortmund held their last press conference of the season prior to facing Bayer Leverkusen at home. "It was an unbelievable week. It's clear that it will still take a bit of time for it to all sink in," stated Terzic, before adding: "It was a super atmosphere. You could see how happy and delighted we all were that we managed to achieve it together."

After beating Mainz away on Sunday, the team was given two days off before returning to the training ground on Wednesday. "We've already done some good work on the pitch and got into competitive mode so the boys have the desire to win again," said the BVB coach. "We want to give everything we've got once again to win on Saturday."

Because although the major objectives for the season have been achieved, the coach and players have set themselves three goals for their upcoming game. Firstly, to extend their ongoing run of six Bundesliga victories on the bounce. Secondly, to bid farewell to the retiring Lukasz Piszczek with a win. In contrast to his usual approach, Terzic revealed information about the line-up in advance, saying: "The Mainz game came too soon for him, but we certainly want to have Piszczu on the pitch in our stadium one last time. He will definitely play!"

And thirdly, BVB want to ensure that the teams they have overtaken in recent weeks remain behind them in the final table. "Hence why there's a lot of anticipation for Saturday. We want to play for the win and end the season in third place," said the BVB coach, who also revealed a personal goal of his as well. "I really want to beat Hannes on Saturday."

Former BVB youth coach Hannes Wolf, whom Terzic brought to Borussia in 2010, will be his opposite number in the dugout. "Hannes and I have known each other for almost 20 years. We followed the same path together at university and I took my first steps in football alongside him," explained Terzic. "We're still very close friends. We might not have worked together over the last few years, but we've still always supported each other. He's one of the most important people in my life. He's a Dortmund lad and he made a mark here."
