After the 0-4 loss at Ajax, captain Marco Reus spoke clearly and was self-critical at the same time. "The first goal we conceded was my fault."

Marco Reus: "Ajax had many, many opportunities. For their first goal I misjudged the ball, so conceding was my fault. We had one or two chances through Erling, but we didn't take them. We made the game too open; it was end-to-end. Ajax came out on top because they were the better team. We weren't aggressive and we didn't go into challenges with enough energy. We imagined it differently, so it's not easy to find the right words. It wasn't in the plan for us to be dismantled like that here." (fu)

Julian Brandt: "We were showed our limits against a very, very good side. You can see what we still need to work on, and where we still need to develop further. At 0-2 down, our heads dropped, even though the game wasn't completely lost at that point. We had two or three good chances, but not as many as we should have." (fu)
