Referee: BVB debut for Jöllenbeck

Dr. Matthias Jöllenbeck, 34, from Freiburg will take charge of the DFB-Pokal second-round clash between Borussia Dortmund and FC Ingolstadt 04. He will be assisted on the sidelines by Christof Günsch from Berlin and Jonas Weickenmeier from Frankfurt. Thomas Gorniak from Bremen is the fourth official. It will be Jöllenbeck's first time refereeing the BVB first team. He has so far overseen nine Bundesliga games (most recently Bayern versus Hoffenheim).

Late deciders will still be able to pick up tickets from the BVB FanWorld directly next to Signal Iduna Park from 17:30 CET today. Two outside kiosks will be open until kick-off. 

Cup history: FCI last reached last 16 in 2017/18

This is FC Ingolstadt's 15th involvement in the DFB-Pokal. They have only gone beyond the second round on two previous occasions, before losing in the last 16 both times. FCI were beaten by VfL Wolfsburg in 2013 and SC Paderborn in 2017.

Previous meetings: Three wins & a draw

Ingolstadt were in the Bundesliga from 2015 to 2017. In that time, there were four matches played between the two teams. The Black & Yellows clearly won the first meeting in Ingolstadt 4-0, though both home games were won only narrowly – a 2-0 on 30 January 2016 and a 1-0 on 17 March 2017. All three home goals were scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (pictured), who also scored two of the seven away goals. It was a turbulent affair on 22 October 2016, as BVB came back from 2-0 and 3-1 behind to grab a lucky 3-3 draw thanks to Christian Pulisic's equaliser. You will find the match report for that game here.

The match can be watched live on TV in Germany on pay-TV broadcaster Sky and free-to-air channel SPORT1. Host Thomas Helmer (pictured during his time as a BVB player) will be joined by commentator Markus Höhner and analyst Stefan Effenberg. Coverage starts at 18:00 CET. BVB Netradio will provide Black & Yellow-tinged commentary from 19:40 CET. Norbert Dickel and Boris Rupert will be on the microphones as usual. Borussia Dortmund will wear their neon-yellow ''cup jersey'' with black shorts and (neon-) yellow socks. FC Ingolstadt will be dressed all in white.
