After Marco Reus was fouled, Emre Can picked up the ball and – like he did in Bielefeld – slotted home from the spot with composure. After the match, he spoke to the Sky reporter. In that same composed manner.

Emre Can on the match in Wolfsburg:
"The important thing today was to win. We had to show a reaction after the game on Wednesday. We did that, and it was not an easy game here today. The second half was very difficult, but we battled for each other, played as a team and deserved to win in the end."

...on the goal conceded early on:
"We set out with the aim of starting well, but we didn't manage that at all. The important thing was that we then kept on playing our football. That hasn't always been in the case in the past few weeks, but we did it today."

...on Erling Haaland:
"He's hugely important on the pitch, that gives the team confidence. We don't need to talk about his qualities. He has already helped us out a lot in the past, and we're happy to have him back."

...on the upcoming Klassiker:
"Lots of excitement! Prior to this season, our goal was to be as close as possible to Bayern when we played them. Now the time has come, and we need to work hard and prepare ourselves well in the week ahead. Then we'll see what happens..."
