After just two weeks of preparation, coach Ingo Kuhl's team won 5-0 (2-0) against DJK SV Mauritz from the Münster Kreisliga. "We are a completely new team made up of players from numerous clubs across the local area," said Kuhl, "so I am extremely satisfied with how the team implemented what we set out to do.''

The coach was keen to highlight the various positive aspects of the team's approach: "Of course there are still many things we need to work on. But I think that's completely normal, because we'd never played a game together before today."

Kuhl opted for a 4-4-2 system in the first half and a 4-2-3-1 system after the break. His players were able to execute both systems well, said the coach. Jennifer Kaleja (7) and Gina Brandner (36) hit the target in the first half to give BVB a commanding 2-0 lead at the interval.

Despite numerous changes in personnel, BVB did not let up in the second half. Laura Wasmuth netted (59) and Michelle Hölter bagged a brace (79/86) to round off a deserved 5-0 win. "That was a nice result for us, we approached things well, kept a clean sheet, and 21 players from our 22-player squad got some playing time. We weren't sure where we stood before. We know now," said coach Ingo Kuhl as he reflected on a satisfying performance.

The next friendly match for the Black & Yellow women will take place on Sunday 7 August against Bezirksliga outfit TSV Union Wuppertal (kick-off 16:30 CET).
