Dutch handball team finish EUROs in sixth place
The Dutch national team, whose ranks include BVB players Yara ten Holte, Zoë Sprengers and Harma van Kreij (out with injury), lost their fifth-place play-off at the European Handball Championship 37-32 to Sweden.
While Ten Holte made six saves, Sprengers managed to find the net on four occasions – her best haul at this European Championship. The sixth-place finish means the Netherlands can qualify directly for the 2023 World Cup.
The German team, which includes Black & Yellows Alina Grijseels and Lisa Antl, will find out whom they will go up against in the play-offs in April in Saturday's draw. The German women's handballers finished the European Championship in seventh place.
