Goalscorers Julian Ryerson and Giovanni Reyna were joined by tonight's captain Niklas Süle, Julian Brandt and Salih Özcan in sharing their thoughts after the victory in Mainz. The match reactions.

Giovanni Reyna: "When I came on, I wanted to make a difference. It hasn't always been nice to watch. We haven't performed well away recently. But we gave everything until the end. We made several important changes, worked hard and now things are moving in the right direction."

Julian Ryerson: "These are the best wins: scoring a goal at the end of stoppage time away to a difficult team. It was the worst start we could have, for me too. I made up for it after a few minutes. The ball took a fortunate deflection and went in."

Niklas Süle: "It was a very demanding task. It's crazy to win like this in the final minute. It was a wild game in the second half. We got three points thanks to a bit of luck. In the first half, we had an incredible amount of control, showed a very good reaction to the set-piece goal and played a really good game for 20 or 25 minutes. We could have gone in at half-time in the lead. The second half was very wild from both teams. We weren't smart with our final balls in the final third."

Salih Özcan: "We kept going until the end and ultimately got our reward. It was a fortuitous victory, even if we did perform very well in spells. Nice that it came from a set-piece. We worked hard on that in the training camp."

Julian Brandt: "Last-minute wins are the most emotional. After last Sunday, we believed we could win. We're noticing that we're having to earn the victories up to and beyond the 90th minute. We're not going 2-0 or 3-0 in front and showing a few tricks; rather, we're having to work hard and then getting our reward for that."
