Coal and steel are gone, but their unifying element, the embers, will never fade. In the home match against Hertha BSC, Borussia Dortmund once again reminds us of the history of this city when the team will play in a jersey with black charcoal pattern and steel-look flocking.

In the formative period of industrialisation, people built up the city of Dortmund and also BVB with hard work. These people and their virtues are still appreciated today. The fire they started connects the city, the fans and the club across generations; it lives on and rekindles the enthusiasm and passion for our BVB again and again.

The unique jersey that the team will wear against Hertha BSC on Sunday has a black charcoal pattern, the flock has a steel look with an integrated city map of Dortmund. Both the BVB logo and the partner and Bundesliga logos are in black. The neck of the jersey also features the lettering "Borussia unites".

"The jersey is reminiscent of the ‚Coal and steel‘ special jersey from the year 2019. Also because of the many enquiries and requests to reissue such a jersey, we have decided to relaunch it and hope that we will please many fans with it," says Chief Marketing Officer Carsten Cramer.

The jersey will be available on Saturday, 18 February, from 10 a.m. in the online shop (while stocks last); packaged in a special box. The price is € 89.99.

BVB thanks their supplier PUMA and main sponsor 1&1 as well as sleeve sponsor GLS and the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) who have supported the idea and the design of this special jersey from the beginning.
