The away derby will take place at 18:30 CET on Saturday. Around 6,000 BVB fans will be there to support BVB from the stands. We have put together the most important information for the game for away fans.

Getting to the stadium

  • Please note that the A43 will be closed in both directions between the Herne-Eickel junction and the Recklinghausen motorway junction due to construction work on the weekend of the match..
  • Due to the corresponding traffic diversions, an increased traffic volume must therefore be expected on the A2 and A40.

Arriving by car:

  • Coming from the A2, you can reach the away fans' car park via exits 6 (Gelsenkirchen-Buer) and 7 (Herten).
  • From the A42, take exit 17 (Gelsenkirchen-Schalke) to the away fans' car park.
  • Away fans can use parking spaces in zones E1, E2 and P7.
  • The away fans' parking spaces can be accessed via "Berni-Klodt-Weg" (accessed via Willy-Brandt-Allee).
  • The parking fee is €5 and will be collected at the exit after the game. Away fans who park in the car park two hours before kick-off can park free of charge.

Arriving by coach:

  • Coaches for away fans can use the Gelsenwasser car park.
  • This can also be accessed via "Berni-Klodt-Weg" (accessed via Willy-Brandt-Allee).
  • The parking fee for coaches is €20.

Arriving by public transport:

  • For fans coming from Dortmund Hauptbahnhof, extra trains to Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof with the following travel times are recommended:
    • Dortmund Hauptbahnhof - Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof (all times in CET): Departure 14:52 / Platform 26, arrival 15:13 / Platform 8 
    • Dortmund Hauptbahnhof - Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof (all times in CET): Departure 15:16 / Platform 21, arrival 15:36 / Platform 25
    • Dortmund Hauptbahnhof - Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof (all times in CET): Departure 15:53 / Platform 26, arrival 16:17 / Platform 8
  • For fans going back from Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof, extra trains to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof with the following travel times are recommended:
  • Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof - Dortmund Hauptbahnhof: Departure 21:21 / Platform 8, arrival 21:38 / Platform 26
  • Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof - Dortmund Hauptbahnhof: Departure 21:35 / Platform 8, arrival 22:07 / Platform 26
  • Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof - Dortmund Hauptbahnhof: Departure 22:19 / Platform 8, arrival 22:38 / Platform 31  
  • The extra trains are designed to hold 800 passengers per train.
  • From Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof, shuttle buses to the stadium (southern exit) will be in operation, which run to the Gelsenwasser car park.
  • Please note that no glass containers and cans can be taken into the southern area of Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof.
  • Toilet facilities are available to away fans in a parking garage at the south exit of the Hauptbahnhof.
  • Shuttle buses to Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof are also offered on the way back from the Gelsenwasser car park.

Admission to the stadium

  • The stadium will open at 16:30 CET.
  • Please be prepared for longer waiting times at the entrance due to more stringent checks.
  • From the car parks, you can reach the away entrances of the stadium by travelling north via the "Berni-Klodt-Weg".
  • BVB fans with standing tickets (blocks V and W) should turn off halfway along the "Hermann-Eppenhoff-Weg" to the Süd (South) entrance.
  • BVB fans with seated tickets should use the Ost 2 (East 2) entrance.
  • Fans with a blood alcohol content of over 1.6 will not be allowed inside the stadium. Random checks will be carried out.

Permitted fan merchandise:

  • 3 megaphones (already allocated)
  • 6 drums (already allocated)
  • Fence flags
  • 10 large swivel flags
  • Small flags (max. 2 m pole length)
  • Two-poled banners

Prohibited fan merchandise:

  • Full-block-size flags
  • Pyrotechnics of any kind

Permitted items:

  • Bags up to size A4

Prohibited items:

  • Bags over size A4
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Photo and video equipment for commercial use
  • Tube scarves
  • Violent, racist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, left- and right-wing extremist material or symbols.

Stadium

  • The standing area for away fans is located in blocks V and W.
  • The seated area for away fans is located in blocks U and 55-66.
  • In the stadium, you can pay with the "Knappenkarte" or by EC, debit or credit card.
  • No alcohol will be served throughout the stadium and on the grounds surrounding the stadium.

Miscellaneous

  • The Gelsenkirchen police and the Dortmund police have issued a joint fan letter to all home and away fans.
  • The Federal Police also published a fan letter: 
  • A baggage drop-off point is offered at the South and East 2 entrances. However, fans are asked to avoid carrying bags and backpacks where possible.
  • The "'#STEHTAUF" (Stand up) advice centre is located in the rear area of the Schalke Museum and can also be reached by away fans via stairwell 13. The advice centre serves as a point of contact for people who have become victims of discriminatory, racist and sexist behaviour or violence in Schalke.
  • Away fans with a wheelchair ticket will receive a badge to park on Parkallee. They can access the stadium via Adenauerallee and Parkallee. Fans can enter the stadium via the special entrance on the Charly-Neumann-Brücke.
