Reus: "We produced a mature performance today"
After the 1-0 home victory against VfL Wolfsburg, Sebastian Kehl, Edin Terzic, Marco Reus, Niclas Füllkrug, Salih Özcan, Gregor Kobel and Julian Brandt all spoke. The match reactions.
Edin Terzic (at the press conference): "We took control right from the start. We had not managed to create clear goalscoring opportunities from a lot of ball possession in the first half. We stuck to those principles because we knew that it would be difficult to defend those spaces at some point. The goal for 1-0 was very nicely played out. We could have made it easier for ourselves by making it 2-0. We're very happy with the procedures both defensively and offensively. It was an absolutely deserved victory and a clear step in the right direction."

Marco Reus (im ZDF): "Victories are always very nice and always important. The last few weeks have been slightly turbulent for us. A great deal has been written. We produced a mature performance today, were solid and gave away little. We might not have had goalscoring chances galore, but we were patient and imposed our game. I had the feeling that the 1-0 was in the air – it was a super cross ball, I only had to tap it in."
Niclas Füllkrug (in the mixed zone): "We deserved the victory. We gave away little at the back and attacked consistently going forward; we always tried to play into the gap and then to pick up the tempo. We controlled the ball well on the pitch. I always had the feeling: we will win the game and it's only a question of time until it is 1-0. The most important thing is performance, and Mats Hummels and Marco Reus have delivered that in the last two weeks. They have proven that they can still help a great, great deal."
Salih Özcan (to BVB-TV): "I'm very satisfied. We played dominant football. The legs were a bit heavy towards the end, but we never had the impression that we would concede a goal. We were very solid defensively. Going forward, we could still create scoring chances more clearly."
Gregor Kobel (in the mixed zone): "It was a solid display, a very dominant performance. We managed to be the better team for 90 minutes. There have definitely already been games in which we had more major goalscoring chances but today we had a lot of control in the game. There was always a passing option there. And we have so much quality up front that we can always be dangerous going forward. You can't always defend everything, but overall we gave away very little. We were solid off the ball and won the challenges."
Julian Brandt (to BVB-TV): "Even though it was 0-0 for a long time: it was important that we kept calm. You can win a game in the 70th or in the 80th minute too."
Sebastian Kehl (to Sky): "It was a deserved victory. We dominated the game in almost all phases and didn't give much away. We might not have had many chances to score, but we took one of them ruthlessly via Marco Reus. All in all, we were significantly more stable. But we can be even more effective. There is only a two-point gap to the league leaders. We're still close and unbeaten."
