After the 3-0 triumph against SC Freiburg, head coach Edin Terzic, sporting director Sebastian Kehl and goalscorers Donyell Malen and Niclas Füllkrug spoke to the media. The match reactions.

Edin Terzic (to DAZN): "We saw our best performance of 2024 today. We took control from the beginning. It was not easy to keep up the rhythm due to the long interruption to the match in the first period. We kept Freiburg at bay very well, we were very focused when defending set-pieces and on the ball there was only one phase that we weren't satisfied with. Otherwise, I thought we were very clear, very disciplined and very mature. Unfortunately, we just couldn't score the third goal sooner, so the game remained somewhat open. Five games, only one goal conceded, and that was an own goal – that's the foundation."

Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "I cannot recall any notable chances for Freiburg. We always kept calm and struck in ice-cold fashion. Donyell Malen steered the game in the right direction through his actions. In the second half it was a very convincing performance, the best in months; really good in footballing terms too."

Niclas Füllkrug (to DAZN): "I wanted a win for my birthday today. A goal was secretly part of that too. Today we frequently found the right feet going forward and often played the clean pass. And we were extremely diligent in pressing deep and often played the ball to where it could be dangerous. We therefore really deserved to win. We could've even scored one or two goals more, even if there were certain phases in which we slightly ran out of steam and were coasting along."

Donyell Malen (to DAZN): "We showed the right intensity from the beginning and scored the goals at the right moments. We were able to make good use of our counter situations today. Niclas Füllkrug and I help each other, he has great quality. You can see that we've taken a big step forward since the winter, especially on the ball."
