Once again Borussia Dortmund extended a warm invitation this Sunday to the annual BVB KidsClub day at Dortmund Zoo. The zoo shone black and yellow as just under 20,000 visitors came across the day in fine weather conditions dressed in the club's colours.

And it was not only the zoo that was pleased to welcome so many visitors, but also our mascot EMMA, who was there special for the young ones for photographs, autograph signings, and to give out cuddles.

Together with partner Rewe, who were also presenting this year's zoo day, Borussia Dortmund had thought up plenty of Black and Yellow surprises. As such, the young Borussia boys and girls were able to discover the zoo and its animals as part of the "EMMA's detectives" puzzle-hunt. On handing in the correct solution, there was a Black and Yellow prize for every budding detective, and furthermore, all correct solutions have been entered into a grand prize-draw.

Moreover, the young Black and Yellow fans were able to participate in a variety of activities set up by Borussia Dortmund and Rewe as part of "6 out of 09". Among other things, they had to try and identify different animals based on their tracks, demonstrate their football trickery on BVB's football ground, or show off their ability at ladder toss, hosted by Rewe.

The highlight of the day was of course the visit paid by the BVB Senior Team players Marco Reus and captain Marcel Schmelzer. Marcel adopted the good-humoured sloth, Julius, while Marco befriended two young alpacas. Afterwards, both of them signed plenty of autographs for the many fans who had made the trip.
