There was massive disappointment after last weekend's 5-0 defeat in the top-of-the-table clash with Bayern Munich, but now everyone at Adi-Preißler-Allee is looking determinedly at what lies ahead. ''The way the past few days have been for me, I haven't felt the result has left any kind of mark. The coach showed us what we did badly, it was a really detailed analysis,'' said Roman Bürki, and was keen to stress that: ''We've worked really hard the past few days and we've been intense in our preparations for the next task!'' This will come on Saturday evening (18:30 CET), when FSV Mainz 05 are the visitors at Signal Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund have picked up 38 out of a possible 42 points at Signal Iduna Park this season, meaning they have the best home record in the division. The team from Mainz have lost all of their last five away matches, but they are fresh off the back of a 5-0 triumph over Bayern bogey team Freiburg. This ought to serve as a warning to Lucien Favre's charges. ''There's no pressure on us, we just want to see a reaction,'' said the BVB head coach.

The personnel situation

Favre will be without the services of both Achraf Hakimi and Lukasz Piszczek. The Polish right-back, who made his return from injury during the headline encounter with Bayern, suffered a fresh fitness setback with an injury to his foot, which according to Favre will force him to spend a further two to three weeks on the sidelines. Dan-Axel Zagadou, Raphael Guerreiro, Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic were all only able to undergo light training on Thursday. In the words of Favre: ''We're not entirely sure just yet whether or not they'll be able to play.''

With just six matchdays left to go in the Bundesliga, the tension could hardly be more intense. ''There's just one point in it,'' said Roman Bürki with regards to the situation at the top of the table: ''No-one would have expected Freiburg to take two points from Bayern. The same could happen to us, but that goes for Bayern too. We need to be ready!''

Referee Deniz Aytekin will take charge of Saturday's encounter. Eduard Beitinger and Dominik Schaal will run the sidelines, with Frank Willenborg acting as fourth official. Günter Perl and Patrick Alt will be ready to intervene should the referee require the assistance of VAR.
