BVB will be hoping to follow up their 2-1 win over Mainz with another victory when they travel to SC Freiburg on Sunday (kick-off 15:30 CET). But in the pre-match press conference, Lucien Favre was under no illusion it would be an easy game.

Against SC Freiburg on Sunday, Lucien Favre is expecting an opponent that is difficult to play against. "Freiburg are always very well organised, cover a lot of ground and pose a threat too," said the coach, who added. "Freiburg are very good in the air, they have a few players with good heading ability and they're dangerous in that regard."

Zagadou an injury doubt

However, the Swiss tactician will head to Freiburg with Lukasz Piszczek (foot injury) and Achraf Hakimi (broken metatarsal) still unavailable due to injury. They could be joined on the sidelines by Dan-Axel Zagadou, who is currently suffering from knee problems. Favre subsequently turned his attentions to Maximilian Philipp, who "has trained normally with us for 10 days. He's doing well and no longer feels his knee injury." Asked about youngster Leo Balerdi, Favre said: "We've consistently said that he's a player for the future and for next season. He sometimes plays for the reserves but obviously he trains with us. The objective is to prepare him step-by-step for the coming season."

On hearing that the pitch in Freiburg is smaller than in other stadiums, Favre reacted with surprise. "Really? I didn't know that. Thanks for the info, that's important! It means we can press more slowly," said the coach with a smile.
