BVB president Dr. Reinhard Rauball will seek re-election at the Annual General Meeting on November 24th. This is the result of a conversation today with the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dr. Winfried Materna.

The two other board members, vice president Gerd Pieper and treasurer Dr. Reinhold Lunow, had previously written to Dr. Materna in his capacity as chairman of the electoral commission of BV Borussia 09 to propose Rauball’s election as President of the registered association for a further three-year term.

"After a private conversation with Dr. Materna, I am very pleased to announce my willingness to seek re-election for another term of office,” said the 72-year-old on Thursday. The lawyer has presided on the board first between 1979 and 1982, from 1984 to 1986 and now continually since 2004. "I have been proud to have been president of this great club for every minute of my term of office. I feel fit and enjoy this job. The emotional power of BVB is for me the greatest feeling that I have outside my private life. And that will remain so."

"As a BVB member and Chairman of the Economic Council, I very much welcome Dr. Rauball's willingness to run for a new term of office," explained Dr. Materna: "He has proved to be an absolute stroke of luck for our club. I appreciate his loyalty and dedication, and would be happy if he would stay on as president. " (br)
