On average, there was a goal every 16 minutes in matches between Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen last season. Six came in BVB's 4-2 away win at the BayArena in September, followed by another five as the Black & Yellows claimed a 3-2 home victory in February. Here, we've compiled everything you need to know about Saturday's meeting at Signal Iduna Park (15:30 CET) in the usual compact format.

The scenario: Fifth-placed BVB will be looking to return to winning ways following their defeat to Union, while Bayer will be aiming to continue a solid start which saw them take seven points from their first three games. Their tally of 49 goals scored in 20 Bundesliga matches in 2019 is surpassed only by Bayern. The Werkself have scored six goals this term, while BVB have nine.

Home/away: Borussia Dortmund have won six of their last seven Bundesliga home games and have only lost one of their last 18 matches in front of their own supporters. They have scored at least one goal on 26 successive occasions and netted at least two in each of their last 18 home games. Meanwhile, opponents Bayer Leverkusen have won each of their last four Bundesliga away games – the club's longest such run since November 2010. They last tasted defeat on the road on 29 March 2019, when they were beaten 4-1 in Hoffenheim.

Personnel matters: Lucien Favre will issue an update on the personnel situation at the pre-match press conference at 14:00 CET on Thursday (live on BVB TV).
